History can be recorded with verbal, written, and visual history. We present a few old vintage photos of Cabo San Lucas. If you have any vintage photos present them to us and we will post them here.

There are not many old photos of Cabo. Many of the old photos were lost in time. One gentlemen in San José del Cabo talked to the 5 founding families in Cabo San Lucas (Cesenas, Cotas, Sandavals,Castros, and Palacios) and borrowed the photos as we was going to write a book. Alas he died and when asked for the photos to be return his family did not know what had happened to them. These photos were collected over the last 20 years.

In the fall of 1939 to be specific September 14 there was a flood that washed Cabo San Lucas away. The town at that time was located on the Arroya by Club Casadas "YemmiCamu" (the original native indians  Percuí called this area Yemmi Camu translated meaning "a place between fresh and salt water"). After the storm subsided there were few structures left and the residents moved the city to its present location. La Golondrina was a trading post and still exist today with the excellent Restaurant La Golondrina. La Golondrina is the Spanish name for Swallows and the history says that many Swallows used to come to this area.
